St. Louis Blues Hockey Cards
St. Louis Blues hockey cards highlight Hall of Fame goaltender Grant Fuhr (during his time with the team) and modern stars like Jordan Binnington, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Robert Thomas. Binnington’s Young Guns rookie card gained value during the Blues' Stanley Cup run, while rookie cards and autographs for Thomas remain popular. Upper Deck Young Guns, SP Authentic, and memorabilia patches are strong collector targets for Blues fans and investors.
The St. Louis Blues, founded in 1967 as part of the NHL’s major expansion, endured decades of playoff heartbreak before capturing their first Stanley Cup in 2019, a triumph celebrated by generations of loyal fans. The Blues reached the Stanley Cup Final in each of their first three seasons behind stars like Red Berenson, Glen Hall, and Jacques Plante, but fell to the dominant Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins teams of the era. The 1970s and 1980s featured stars like Bernie Federko, the franchise’s all-time leading scorer for many years, and rugged forward Brian Sutter, who embodied St. Louis’ hard-nosed playing style. The 1990s brought Hall of Fame talents Brett Hull, one of the NHL’s greatest goal scorers, Al MacInnis, whose blistering slap shot became legendary, and goaltender Curtis Joseph, though playoff success remained elusive. The Blues consistently reached the postseason through the 2000s with players like Chris Pronger, the 2000 Hart and Norris Trophy winner, and forward Keith Tkachuk, but could not break through to the Finals. That all changed in 2019 when interim coach Craig Berube led a last-place team in January on a miraculous run to the Stanley Cup championship, defeating the Boston Bruins in seven games behind rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington, captain Alex Pietrangelo, and playoff MVP Ryan O’Reilly. The victory ended 52 years of frustration for Blues fans and cemented players like Vladimir Tarasenko and Brayden Schenn as franchise heroes. Recent seasons have featured roster changes and a transition toward young talent like Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou, aiming to keep St. Louis competitive in the Central Division. From decades of near-misses to 2019 glory, the Blues’ history blends perseverance, star power, and one of the NHL’s most dedicated fan bases.
