Utah Mammoth Hockey Cards
The Utah Mammoth is a professional ice hockey team based in Salt Lake City. The team competes in the National Hockey League as a member of the Central Division in the Western Conference. The franchise joined the league as an expansion team for the 2024–25 season.
The Utah Mammoth, officially joining the NHL in 2024 after the relocation of the Arizona Coyotes to Salt Lake City, marks the beginning of a new era for professional hockey in Utah, combining a fresh start with the foundation of an existing roster and the promise of a passionate new fan base. While the franchise’s history traces back to its Arizona years—with legendary players like long-time captain Shane Doan, star goaltender Mike Smith, and elite defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson—the move to Utah brings new energy and aspirations for success in a market eager to embrace NHL hockey. The Coyotes’ history included memorable moments like their 2012 run to the Western Conference Final, led by Smith, Doan, and coach Dave Tippett, before years of ownership struggles and arena issues eventually paved the way for relocation. Now, under new ownership led by Ryan Smith and playing at the Delta Center in downtown Salt Lake City, the Utah Hockey Club begins its journey with a young roster featuring talents like Clayton Keller, Lawson Crouse, and emerging prospects such as Logan Cooley, one of the NHL’s top young forwards. With a passionate fan base already forming in Utah, known for its love of sports and electric home atmospheres, the franchise aims to quickly build a winning culture under new management and coaching. The move also promises investment in state-of-the-art facilities, grassroots hockey development, and community outreach to establish hockey in Utah for generations to come. From the Coyotes’ legacy in Arizona to a bold new chapter in Salt Lake City, the Utah Hockey Club’s story begins with optimism, young talent, and the pursuit of becoming the NHL’s next great success story in a brand-new hockey market.
